Streamif runs entirely on your Mac. It has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We do not collect, store or receive any of your data.
Nothing. Streamif has no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting. Nothing you do in the app is reported back to us, because there is no "us" for it to be reported to. We do not operate any server that Streamif talks to.
Your camera, microphone, screen and recordings stay on your Mac. When you go live, Streamif sends video and audio straight from your Mac to the streaming service you chose, using the RTMP address and stream key you entered. Nothing passes through us. Recordings are written to a folder on your Mac and are never uploaded anywhere.
Signing in is optional. It is only used to show live chat inside the app.
Everything else in Streamif works without it. Streamif requests read-only
access to YouTube (the youtube.readonly scope) and, for
Twitch, permission to read chat and your username.
If you sign in with Google, Streamif accesses only:
Google user data is used only to provide the live chat feature you can see in the app: showing your signed-in channel, finding your current live broadcast, and displaying its chat messages on your screen and, if you choose, as an overlay in your own stream. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, selling, or any other purpose, and it is not used to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models. Streamif does not post, edit or delete anything on your YouTube channel.
We do not share, transfer, sell or disclose Google user data to anyone.
Streamif has no servers, so Google user data never reaches us or any third
party. The app talks directly from your Mac to Google's own servers
(googleapis.com and accounts.google.com) and
nowhere else. The only way chat content leaves your Mac is if you choose to
show the chat overlay in a stream you broadcast yourself.
Twitch sign-in works the same way: Streamif only reads chat for your channel and your username, tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, chat is kept in memory only, and nothing is shared with anyone. Signing out deletes the tokens, and you can remove access from your Twitch connections page.
Streamif's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your scenes, overlays, destinations and preferences are saved on your Mac. Stream keys you enter are stored on your Mac so you do not have to type them again. None of this is sent anywhere.
Streamif checks for new versions using Sparkle. This asks streamif.com for a small update file. As with any web request, the server can see your IP address and which version you are on. No account or personal information is sent, and you can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
Streamif is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
